With the success the Ground Level team had with their first ever hardpark in August last year, the word had spread quickly that the next event these guys held was not one to miss – and those that went would agree with me, it was a huge meet! Cars filled every last spot in the car park and were soon parking anywhere from 200m up the road, to the grass areas surrounding the car park itself.

Wow, what a weekend! The 44th NZ Drag Racing Nationals this weekend has to of been one of the best meetings i have attended in a very long time. Both crowd and race entry numbers were healthy, the weather was on our side and the track delivered a near perfect race surface – yet again and it showed with numerous teams bettering their PB’s or breaking records.

The annual Rotary Summerdrags was held by OnTrack Promotions today at Fram Autolite Dragway in Meremere. The event is widely respected throughout the car scene in New Zealand as it is the only event purely dedicated to the Mazda Rotary engine. As you can imagine with the huge following of Rotary’s here, the event was massive!

The Hot Rods on the Boulevard display was an event put on by East Bay Rods as part of their Pre’49 Nationals which is being held this weekend in Orewa, just north of Auckland. It was a great turnout with over 200 cars on display throughout the main road of Orewa.
